On completion of this unit, a student will be able to:
Basic Energy Information
General Skills and Knowledge
- List and relate units of distance, temperature, weight, pressure, heat energy, electricity, angles, surface area, volume, and flow rates
- Translate integers, fractions and mixed numbers, decimals, and percents.
This unit covers the conceptual aspects of measurements commonly encountered in SHW installations and weatherization (lengths, angles, volume, temperature, pressure, and flow rates). The unit exercises are designed to develop familiarity and accuracy with various units of measurement and related measuring devices. We recommend introducing these exercises in a piecemeal fashion and revisiting them as related concepts are introduced in the other units.
